black and white

How is it possible for us to take in ghastly Nithari images and read the scroll which says "Wish Rahul and his men luck" and smile at the possibility of a World Cup win, at the same time?
I didn't say we'll win, Arjuna Ranatunga did and so did my sweet cricket-obsessed sister.
How can you deny it, we have a chance, don't we?

It's easier to ignore it as an anomaly. Not the fact that we just might pull it off at West Indies. Distractions like this are just easier to handle.

We're Indians. All "these things" don't happen in our society.
Farmer suicides?
No.
9.2% growth.
Is it going to be one more event to be rationalized in our collective conscience and soon become one more thing that happened? Is it a part of a trend or is it only an aberration?

Children have died in exceptional circumstances, like war and drought but these are not premeditated. The killings in Nithari were.

Is justice delayed, justice denied? Or should we celebrate that atleast there has finally been some action taken?
IBN didn't have an 'SMS-your-support to the parents of Nithari' campaign. With the World Cup around the corner, they'd rather be the self-appointed official Cricket fan's medium of conveying luck and love.

I haven't sent the SMS yet. Something tells me I will.
